Senior Citizens Wii Bowling
Mondays, 10:30 am
Beginning September 22nd
Strike! Show your bowling skills right here in the Butterfield Library! Already popular at other area libraries, this virtual reality video game is very much like the real thing because the player goes through the physical motions of the game while hooked up to the controller and watching the results on a TV screen. Stop by the Library to check it out!
The Butterfield Book Group
One Monday a Month, 7 PM
This lively book discussion group meets to discuss books from a variety of genres
including biography, non-fiction, poetry,
mystery, classic literature and, of course, fiction. Previous selections include In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Fleming, The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey by Candice Millard, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, and Atonement by Ian McEwan. This month’s selection is The Young Wan by Brendan O’Carroll. All are welcome. Please contact Jane D’Emic at 265-3040 if you would like to participate.
The Highland Garden Club
Fourth Tuesday of the Month, 1 pm
Whether you are an avid gardener or just looking to meet new people, consider
becoming a member. The club hosts guest speakers on a variety of gardening subjects and offers children’s workshops to pass on their extensive knowledge. They are
responsible for the Library’s new Butterfly Garden and for the annual Christmas tree and origami ornaments. For more information on membership, please contact Club
President Marlene Bernstein at 914-788-4086.
The Butterfield Quilting Group
Monday afternoons
Create a beautiful one-of-a-kind quilt with this dedicated group. New members are always welcome. The completed quilt is displayed at the Library and raffled off to a lucky winner with all proceeds going to the Library. Chances are currently on sale for this year’s beautiful creation. A book of 6 tickets cost only $5 and an individual chance is $1.
